When Tyson and I got married, we went crazy with details. We had been to 9 other wedding the year before ours and at each wedding we thought about what we loved and what we wanted to do differently. It took a great deal of work, but today people still tell us it was one of the most fun weddings they had been to.

The invitation was a story. It contained a whole bunch of information about how we met, the details of the weekend, pictures, directions and more. It ended up being completely crazy to create all of them, but I really learned a lot about designing and producing invites in the process.
There were so many details involved in our wedding. Here are just a couple of shots (Thanks Ramon!)

Each bottle had an image of Tyson and I included on the label . They went with the care packages that we created for each guest.

Guests were asked to create a personalized note for us. We used this as a guest book. After the wedding, I created a scrap book of all of the notes along with images from the disposable cameras.

This week we visited the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL with Gavin and Grace and played in the Children’s Garden (it’s so cool!). It was nice to get out again and get some photos outside. I’ve been struggling a lot lately with indoor photography . It’s always something that I’ve? had a hard time? with. At some point, I need to just take a lighting course but I have a feeling that’s going to be on the back burner for a little while. Here are just a couple of pictures that I took while we were there. I look forward to lots more days of being there in the near future!

This weekend, we visited my friend Linda and her family. She lives in this beautiful conservation community called Deerpath Farm. She gave me all of these fun slings to use. I run into the issue of needing to work, but also needing to take care of my newborn baby. Many times I put her in a little chair I have, but sometimes I really just want to hold her. Today she was already asleep on my lap and I wanted my hand back, so I wrapped this incredible piece of fabric behind my back, brought it forward and tucked it under Grace. Presto – my hands were free, Grace was still on my lap and I was able to work. It’s amazing with all of this fancy stuff that so many times we think we need, just the basic things we have work just as well. I love keeping things just a little more simple.

As many of you know, my brother, Tom lives in Alaska and is training as an Iditarod Sled Dog Racer. For the past couple of years, my family and I have been helping him and his kennel, Iron Pearl Kennels, by designing t-shirts and selling them. The image above represents the shirts I designed. We used this great company out in Seattle called Seatthole Shirts (http://www.seatthole.com/) to print them.
Over the last couple of years, I’ve also designed things like truck stickers, banners, postcards and more to help get the word out about their kennel. Hopefully with some of the work we’ll be doing this year, my family and I can get him and his partner, Jessica Hendricks back to the start line in Anchorage in 2010. Please let me know if you might be interested in sponsorship.
